It is amazing how quickly a year passes. On Sunday 20th. March 2005, a year to the day, since Mike Rooke organised the last reunion of the class of '57 (or thereabouts!) at Yelfs, Union Street, Ryde, yet another gathering assembled! It was great to see the numbers increasing again, with no less than 13 ORs turning up for a few pints and a lot of conversation. The participants were: Messrs. Wheeler(R), Tremlett, Rooke, Westcott, Millett, Davies (R), Moorman (C), Tucker, Diment, Ross, Gully, Wheeler (J), & Crimp. It was unfortunate that in spite of "unearthing" two contemporaries during the last year, both Stuart Jones and Francis Cotterill were unable to make it, they were sadly missed. There are others who live on the Island we would love to have along to this, now annual event, so if anyone knows the whereabouts of "missing" members of the Class of '57, or should they read this item PLEASE get in touch with one of us, or just turn up next time. As the event is now becoming a regular feature Bob Davies came up with the idea of a special plaque, to be placed in the bar at Yelfs. He has collected a considerable sum of money, so watch this space for an announcement. Well done Bob, a great idea and a lasting memory of happy hours spent with old pals at that well known ORs "Watering Hole" in Union Street,Ryde.
